The Jetsetter Series

A series of posters/postcards of places I've visited around the world.

Part of a series of posters/postcards that I have designed based on places around the world I have visited.
Melbourne, to me, is a very geometric city. Many of the buildings, such as Federation Square, the Arts Centre and the new as yet unnamed sporting centre all strongly feature triangles in their design. The city is also built on a tight rectangular grid of streets and laneways, all of which are represented in this design.
Shizuoka was the first place I visited outside of Australia. Here I have incorporated the Japanese flag rising up behind Mount Fuji.
For Amsterdam I structured the layout around the iconic windmills of Holland. The typeface design is based on the windmill's blades and I have incorporated this into the design.
For Munich (Munchen) I've incorporated the german beer stein as the focal point of the poster along with some German-esque typography.
I used the water bollards found in Venice (Venezia) as the focal point of this design, using them to create the V shape to form the start of the text. The remainder of the letters are based on classic 50s typefaces.
To replicate the imagery of Rome (Roma) I have chosen the image of the Roman Column.
Here I have designed a poster for Bern (Berne) with the classic Swiss Cuckoo Clock as the centre-piece. I also chose to use a limited colour scheme reminiscent of the Swiss flag.
